Sickrage is refusing to download episodes as they become available. If I manually initiate the search it will fetch the show, pass to SABnzbd for download, and then post-process the show properly.
So everything works, but it is failing to find available shows on its own. It's the latest plugin on the latest release of FreeNAS. EP Status is also set to Wanted.
See log below:

It ran its own search and found nothing, and less than a minute later I ran a manual search and it fetched the episode.

You have to jump through hoops to get something posted on the sickrage forum, so hoping someone here can help.

  • maybe you have different providers enabled for manual vs automated searches?

I didn't know this was possible. I checked under Provider Settings and nzbs.org (which is what I use) has the 'Enable Daily Searches' box checked. I have search frequency set to 10 minutes as well. I've combed through every settings page and there is no indication as to why it is not grabbing available downloads automatically. Maybe I'll reboot, reload the config from backup and see if anything works.

Well I tried posting there, but it was closed immediately after a meaningless response was issued.

Something about daily searches only search for new episodes, and backlog searches search for any that are missing. So if I'm missing an episode I have to wait 12 hours before the backlog search kicks in. Though my situation has nothing to do with missing episodes, it has to do with newly posted episodes not being snatched by the daily searches.

Maybe I have the wrong idea, but Sickbeard used to work perfectly. It snatched shows within 15 minutes of them being posted. I expected the same from sickrage, but so far it does not do that.

If I were you I'd just
pkg install sonarr

I used to use Sickbeard, tried Sickrage - didn't like it and then moved to Sonarr. I LOVE it, it's what SB could have been - and should have been.

yeah, i don't understand what that has to do with a newly released episode as those should be grabbed by daily searches.

I know sickrage works perfectly for me, so I'm assuming it's a bug somewhere that is somehow affecting you.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to give it a try.
