With the combination of FreeNAS joining with TrueNAS ( Free BSD to Linux) does anyone know what system the shell uses for commands? Im currently running TrueNAS 12.0 version and in the shell im trying to find out what hardware my system is running. In normal Linux system I would type in lshw or sudo lshw to get a print out of system hardware info. But in doing so on TrueNAS i get a response of command not found.

Q1: Is there a way CLI or GUI for me to obtain this information on my TrueNAS sytem?

Q2: What commands need to be used within the TrusNAS Terminal Shell?

Have you tried "dmidecode"? Look in the FreeBSD man pages on Hardware for the info on shell/CLI commands.

TrueNAS and FreeNAS have always been FreeBSD. If you're running TrueNAS SCALE, that's on Linux--but that very much a pre-release product at this point. All of the current releases are still FreeBSD.
