SOLVED setting up IBM ServeRAID M1015

Hi i was just wondering there are several guides to update this card the latest from 2014.

Was just wondering is there an up to date guide how to flash these or are the old one's still spot on?

Is it still version 16 we want ? or has this changed ?

Any other tips or links to actual howto's are most appreciated !
Scared shirtless of flashing somehow it always goes boo boo with me

As long as you get the latest version of the firmware, the process to install it has not changed.

Last I checked the Firmware version was: 20.00.07.00

Thanks everything went fine zfs pool is running smoothly.
I did: "Flash without the optionROM " i figured its souly for my 8 drive zfs pool why have it. Although i am not seeing temp info any more in freenas is this as i suspect due to the fact the optionROM is not installed ? if so i might flash it.
If not any idea why the temps are not showing anymore ?
Update: after 5 min's the drives started displaying temps again.

Couple of notes:
1. If you indeed flash without the optionROM do not be alarmed the card will no longer been seen at all during boot this is to be expected.
2. usb boot rufus needs legacy mode.
3. i am no bios knight. so the card initially din't get detected i did disable quite some options in the bios since i do not need com poort, logo, pxe boot etc. I also enabled legacy option in pci-e this was needed for the the cheap sata 2 port card i had.
so in the end i defaulted the bios to optimised defaults this resolved the issue i regret i cannot say exactly what option had te be on or off....
4. 20 is indeed the firmware to go with.
Probably obvious things maybe but they had me fiddling for a sec. So hopefully someone can use the tips.
