Hi all
I picked up a pair of old IBM x3659 m3 servers for around $100 (NZ) each to replace the desktop that has been running freenas for about a year now.
specs:
cpu: x2 5620
mem: 48 and 96 GB ecc ddr3
raid: m1015 (now flashed to IT)
lsi 9212-4i4e x2 in each
extra intel dual gigabit NIC in each plus the dual onboard gigabit NIC
One has 4 136 GB sas drives in and the other has 8 600 GB sas drives. I'm not too worried about the 136 drives but I'd like to use the 600's as a backup (I plan to use the lower spec one as a backup). There will be new sata drives that will go in the other one.
Are these drives ok to use?
