I use FreeNAS for a while now and a few weeks ago I've decided to upgrade from 8.04 to 8.3.0 due to 8.0.4 problems with UPS service etc. Eversince the upgrade from 8.0.4 Media Edition the weekly (scheduled) scrub doesn't work. I've scheduled a scrub for the entire Volume every week in the night from Saturday to Sunday. Since the upgrade FreeNAS sends me over 60 emails in that night telling me that no scrub could be started because there is already a scrub is in progress. Apparently it checks for that every minute or so because the mails are sent approximately one minute after the other.
The sad thing is that I can find no error messages, it seems that no scrub was in progress at the time of the scheduled scrub, so, what could cause the error mails?. I have already tried to delete the scheduled scrub, reboot freeNAS and to create a new scrub, to no avail it seems: Sunday night 50 + emails were sent with the same message. Is this a known bug (google doesn't says much about it?)
The planned scrub is the only one for the volume planned, any other scrubs are not scheduled or initiated by me.
The exact message in the mail:
[q] can not scrub tank: currently scrubbing, use 'zpool scrub-s' to cancel current scrub [/ q]
Mail has the following topic:
[q] Cron <root@freenas> PATH = "/ bin :/ sbin :/ usr / bin :/ usr / sbin :/ usr / local / bin :/ usr / local / sbin :/ root / bin" zpool scrub tank > / dev / null [/ q]
I don't really know what to do with this; I'd like to have a weekly scrub to check for any corrupt data. Most of all though I want to know what and why something goes wrong.
Thanks for helping..
