Hi
i want to build a freenas server with my dell poweredge T410.
I don't know what's the maximum capacity authorized on the onboard sata ports. I want to build a 6x4to but I can't find any information on the onboard chip.
If onboard ports does not work with 6x4to, I wanted to put a 6 port sata controller card in PCI-e
I understood that a marvel 88SE9215 could be a good solution. Is it right ?
such like that : https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/33016481933.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.76683c00ffUgyL&mp=1
I'm not pretty sure, but it seems that this chip can only use 4 ports on the 6.
What is your advice ?
- this card with 6x4to will be fine ?
- Use the same card in 4 ports version, and put a second one with 4 other ports ?
I'm confused.
Thanks.
