Hi, I'm having a weird problem ever since I installed 22.12.0 (Bluefin). When I open a video file from any folder in MPC-HC and close the video, I am no longer able to move that folder (Folder in Use error, screenshot attached) until I restart the SMB service. But if I go back to 22.02.4 (Angelfish), the problem doesn't exist. Are there any know bugs? Am I doing something wrong?

I too have this exact issue:
  1. Open and then close file 1 in folder A (also make sure the program is closed)
  2. Try to move folder A into folder B.
  3. A Folder in Use window appears with the following message:
The action cannot be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program. Close the folder or file and try again.

If I wait roughly 15 seconds and click the Try again button in the Folder in Use window, folder A is successfully moved into folder B.

Client is Windows 10 22H2 (OS Build 19045.2846)
Server is TrueNAS-SCALE-22.12.2

Sorry, I missed your response.

I could wait 1 hours and I still won't be able to move it. I did a lot more investigation and I noticed that if I mount the same share trough the IP instead of the hostname, the problem almost disappears! (I do get some very infrequent Folder in Use but it seems to be a different issue)

So, U: is mounting \\UTOPIA\Media\
and V: is mounting \\192.168.10.100\Media\ (same server/share)

Opening any video file and trying to move it's parent folder in U: will always cause the Folder in Use until I restart the SMB service.

Doing the same action in V: doesn't cause any moving issues on any folder, no matter how many video files I play, I can always move it's parent folder(s).

Server is TrueNAS-SCALE-22.12.2 as well.
for Client, I tried in latest Windows 10 22H2 (installed months ago), in a VM with a fresh install and also in another VM with LTSC 21H2. Same exact behavior in all of them.

It's a very weird issue :frown: and I can't seem to anyone with the exact same problem.

I am having the exact same issue. Just switched to Bluefin, have never had it happen before this. Have you found a solution?

Nothing yet. Since I'm not using any specific features from SCALE, I switched to CORE for now on my main server and rolled back to Angelfish on a test server.

The issue seems to be more widespread:

Haven't had time to shoot anodos a PM for the TeamViewer session he suggested here: https://www.truenas.com/community/threads/samba-share-directory-cant-rename.107446/#post-760788

I'm still having this issue, although mapping the network folder by IP does not fix it for me. I have to keep a tab open to the GUI>Shares and tick the share off, then back on, to be able to rename a folder and occasionally some files.
It's frustrating, but not enough to warranty me switching to Core or rolling back to Angelfish.

I'm available if anybody wants me to provide logs or try patching/modifying something to reproduce and hopefully eliminate this issue.
