Hi there. Not sure if this can be done but am curious if I can run a java program called "Put.IO Download Manager" in a jail. If it can I'm just looking for an article on where to get started on this and I can take it from there. Would post the link to the download manager but not sure if against the forum rules or not. Many thanks!

From their website it looks like you use their hosting... Im not sure I understand their setup, but do they have a freebsd client?

Basically the download manager runs on your computer connects to put.io and downloads anything that is downloaded and deletes it after it is done downloading.
They don't have a freebsd client unfortunately so was curious if maybe I could run the .jar file on freenas in a jail with the setting configured. Idk if it's even possible though as I'm not a frequent freebsd user...

Wouldn't that require a desktop/gui interface for their client? Only way to get that would be run virtualbox in a jail.

Yes that's correct but I plan on changing the settings.xml to have it pre-configured so that I don't need the gui up. I didn't think about virtualbox... lol will most likely got that route instead!
