My current setup is I rsync to a dataset owned by user 2000 and group nogroup.
I run a script like this:
rsync -a /srcfiles 2000@ip.of.NAS:/data/set
This seems to preserve the permissions but changes the owner and group to 2000 and nogroup respectively on the files.
Is there a way to treat the dataset the same way as a USB hard drive would work in the sense there is no owner of the drive but will still let user 2000 write to it?
