No, there is no answer in that closed bug report. You can see that they were waiting from more information from the original reporter @Constantin , but that did not happen. I am sure I saw the problem but I could not reproduce so could not contribute. I suggest that you file a new bug report with screenshots, etc.

No, there is no setting for the console window in the GUI.

Ooops, I must somehow have missed that message. I didn't think to check either. I will try to reply / reopen the ticket.

FWIW, I was able to get my monitor to resync several times on on the 8th try, the console is fully back.

This is generally a problem with monitor scalers, not the video output, and having them do an auto setup tends to fix it.

I see the same thing on my IPMI KVM--seems unlikely that has anything to do with the monitor scaler.

Edit: Well, I did. But when I launched the viewer just now, I'm not seeing it. Strange.

I see this happen on some of my monitors. I just fix the monitor and slide the screen over.

MDA/CGA/EGA/VGA text modes all output oddball resolutions by today's standards. They're wider than 4:3 if used with square pixels, which tends to trip up some monitors.

Now that is really weird. I seem to recall some weirdness a few years back with a graphical console mode?

"Now you see it, now you don't" - that's what happened to me on the Asrock IPMI KVM view, too, when I joined in the initial bug report. I felt forced to conclude that I had dreamt it ...
