I have 4 drives with ZFS, and FreeNAS installed on a USB drive, or a HP Microserver. A few days ago, it started to reboot. Thinking/hoping it might be a failing USB drive, I imaged it, and put a copy of the USB drive in, but no luck. It seems to boot up almost completely, then reboots. Assuming there is no hardware failure, can I just take a fresh USB drive, install FreeNAS on it, and have it pick up the drives without any issue or data loss? Would there be a specific process I should follow for maximum safety?
I did have a few jails installed, but their loss would be no problem.
Thanks!

Sounds like a good plan. I would use start with the same version of FreeNAS Zrhat you were using before. If you have a backup copy of the congregation file, restore it after you boot from the new install. If you don't have a backup of the configuration, you will need to reconfigure your server.
