raid drives seem to keep searching or writing every 5-10 seconds consistently

I dont know whats going on but my drives seem to be seeking or writing for a second every 5-10 seconds. These are brand new drives set up in a raid 1 configuraation. Any settings I can look at or logs to read?

ZFS write transaction groups are 5 seconds long. If you system dataset is here, it logs that are being written.

thank you for your reply. Do these happen every 5 seconds? Sometimes there will be and interval of a minute, then it will start again.

It's possibly activity related to the system dataset. If your boot device is an SSD, you can try moving the system dataset to freenas-boot rather than the data pool.
