Raid 6 hardware

Hi, I have an LSI SAS2008 9211-8i with the IT version 20 firmware, I am wanting to run a raid 6 setup with 6 x WD Red Pro 8TB drives, is this card suitable for this and is it possible thru trunas, if not what card will I need to replace it with to achieve this?

Will be installed in a full tower running x64 system with an i7-3820 and 16gb ram

Yes, that should be a suitable card & firmware

I'd suggest reading the below doc, (it's not long at all). ZFS does not use RAID-6, but something that works similar called RAID-Z2;

Yes looking into that, which I hadnt heard of, previously, that looks like the option I am looking at.
