I plan to build my own media server with decent redundancy. Per my research It has come down between Amahi or Freenas. Amahi uses a disk pooling protocol that I am not familiar with that uses Greyhole. I have a better understanding of raid 5 and understand that it can recover from a single hard drive failure, what about foxhole? how does RAID 5 compare/compete with Foxhole configuration regarding disk redundancy?
Thanks,
