Hi, I wanted to set up a new storage box with TrueNAS SCALE using a used Supermicro X11DPH-T mainboard and an Radian RMS-200 (or 300) card.
But for whatever reason the Radian RMS card doesn't show up at all. It neither appears in lspci nor is it listed by dmidecode - and of course it doesn't show up in the GUI.

I already tried two different cards (RMS-200 and RMS-300). I tested the cards in another computer to double check they are working (Windows recognized them directly). Changed the PCIe slots (swapped with one containg a working network card).
But nothing works, they simply don't appear. Dmidecode doesn't even show the slot to be "In use", which it does for other extension cards (HBA, NIC).

Any ideas what to check? Is there any kind of driver I'm missing?

Is it supposed to show up as a standard NVMe device (like an SSD), or is it one of the goofy types of early 2010's accelerator devices that requires some sort of integration with the system (sorta like Intel's RST technology)?

That's what I was hoping, I checked with nvme list several times.
After writing my initial post I reseated the card again, as I have done it multiple times the last days. And out of nothing it showed up.
So, whatever your posting did to my server - thanks alot :)

The RMS-200 is a standard NVMe device; however, if it's been sitting in a state of discharge/unplugged for some time, it might need to charge its internal capacitor bank before it comes online. Some NVRAM cards will refuse to initialize at all rather than open up a potential window for data loss.

It's worth checking the contact fingers on the card and the slot for debris as well.

But glad it's decided to start working for you. Enjoy the unlimited-endurance SLOG device!

Oh that's fun, turn a 30-minute maintenance window into a multi-hour affair with several reboots.

Hi @clicks

Sorry to bump a slightly old thread, but I just got my new system, same motherboard as you and cannot get my RMS-200 to show up, worked great in my X9 system, but I cannot get it to show up on my new X11. Is there a particular slot you tried that worked for you? I'm desperate to try anything as its an amazing SLOG.

Thanks
