Problems with Disk Status

i'm testing Freenas 8.2 Release and first of all it works great, its very fast and stable...

i have set up Raid 1 with 2 disks with ZFS, but i don't use 4 gb ram
therefor i don't have full ZFS features... it works

now my question:

so now i plugged one sata drive off, to test what happens....(hot plug)
it happens nothing...system status is still online....no mail
how can i realize that one drive is out of order?

I think the GUI is showing the pool as degraded only after a reboot.

Via CLI you could check it manualy:
zpool status <name of the pool>

ok but it isn't ideal for 24/7 hm...are you shure?
