Problem with wiping disk in FreeNAS 11 - asc:81,0 (Vendor Specific ASC)

I have a Dell 720xd server with a 16 slot 2.5" disc backplane connected to a PCIe LSI SAS 9207-8i.
I have bought 16 disks off of ebay that I have placed in the server.
The LSI card can see the disk just fine and everything looks ok.
However when I try and create a volume or wipe the disk I get the following errors

On the console and in the /var/log/messages file I can see the following errors also.

Bad drive?

Have you checked all your hard drives? Run SMART tests? Etc. There's a post somewhere around here with advice for doing HDD checks.

Wow this will be a really long time since my last post on this. I had to put this on hold due to life stuff.
I have now picked this up again an I have run the command that you asked me to do and this is the result.
I ran it on my first 3 drives. I have a total of 13 drives that all are failing.
My guess is that this is due to the firmware on the disks that are causing my grief.
Any help is really appropriated.
