Hi! I got a critical error that said there were 272 unreadable (pending) sectors, but I believe the server shut down while files were being copied to it. How can I check if the drive went bad, and if it didn't, get rid of the error?

Run a long smart test if you haven’t recently and monitor the smart report. If the value starts climbing, replace the drive. For my own sake, I would have replaced the drive and the tested it outside of FreeNAS for potential reuse somewhere else.

Pending sectors can sometimes be remapped, but if a drive has that many sectors that need to be remapped, it is probably not long for this world. If it is under warranty, you should send it in for replacement. Either way, you should swap it out for one of your pre-tested cold spares.
