Hello everyone,
Today, I woke up to a failed HDD in the "Media" pool in my TrueNAS machine. As I seem to have stumbled across a bad batch of WD Red Pro drives, I figured I'd start an RMA process on this and remove the failed drive (the drive was registering OFFLINE already). Upon booting back into the OS, the pool is now offline and will not mount. Running "zpool import" from the shell yields the following results:
Obviously this pool is degraded as it is missing a disk now. When putting the failed disk back in, it still won't show up at all or register as installed. Running "zpool import Media" yields:
The WebGUI is also indicating the following error:
Searching this forum there seems to be a few threads started regarding this matter with no replies. I'm hoping someone will be able to assist with this matter. If the pool can import, I can replace/resilver the drive, but in it's current state, I am not able to access anything.
The system has the following specs:
AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 631 Quad-Core Processor
8GB RAM
2 pools: one consisting of 4 disks and one consisting of 6 disks (this is the degraded pool)
Pool in question is all WD Reds 4TB
running TrueNAS-12.0-U1.1
System was recently upgraded from FreeNAS 11.3 to TrueNAS 12 about three days ago. No problems encountered during upgrade.
Being a casual user, I am not extremely well versed in what the error message indicates in the WebGUI. Is it possible I have a second failed drive and the pool is toast? Thank you for the assistance!
