If I update plex manually (shell) via github, latest version is now: version 1.24.3.5033
Then after the update there is still the old version in truenas.
Logged in to plex it does say that the latest version: 1.24.3.5033 is installed in truenas.
See pictures
I would like to see the latest version in truenas.
Plex update via truenas never works.
Any ideas?

Are you using the plugin, or did you build the Plex jail yourself? The plugin always lags. If you absolutely need to be on the latest and greatest, you should blow away the plugin, and use @danb35's script to build a custom Plex jail.

Caveat that any system that relies on a FreeBSD package (as mine also does) will probably be a bit behind--Plex releases frequently, and the packages are often up to a couple of weeks behind. Just ignore the notice in the Plex web interface. Or, if you have a pathological need to be up-to-date, search for the PMS_Updater script.

as I've started paying for plex pass... got the lifetime package I retried above, using the plex pass option, got it installed... and started

lets leave it another night and see if a version update maybe solves my problem with it dying... with all fingers pointing to swap,,, but it's not making sense, never use to, now upgraded RAM and still.
