Was glad I finally got Truenas Core running last year with help from you guys without any problems.

After the update from Core to Scale I still run into some problems.

(1) automatic update doesn't work anymore.
(2) I don't get to see apps anymore. Like plex etc....
(3) In mail alerts now only messages that he can not send.
In the mail settings I only added the password after the update.

See pictures for clarification.

Make sure you defined a DNS server in the Network Global Configuration

I don't get to see apps anymore. Like plex etc....
Apps aren't migrated, you need to set them up again.

@sretalla

I have entered 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as dns servers. Not working.

I can't retrieve any apps to install.

Is the address you used for the default gateway actually your router?

Can you ping the DNS IP addresses from the shell?

You don't need to specify the address in CIDR for ping.

ping 8.8.8.8 for example.

You shouldn't be relying on pinging 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4, Google is known not to accept ICMP for these at some locations. There was an entertaining thread on NANOG about this. You could try several sites, though, and see if it works. This sorta looks like your networking is broken though.

@sretalla @jgreco

I have tried various dnsserver addresses, doesn't help anything.

From my windows laptop I can access the folders in truenas.
Backing up with veeam from the laptop with wifi to the nas is also no problem.

All problems occurred after the upgrade to scale last Saturday, February 26.

Perhaps try changing your LAGG mode to failover and see if that changes anything.

Thanks again for your help! Where are the we without this forum:smile:

But why can I use LACP in Core and not after the update to Scale?

Although the GUI looks very similar, those are 2 different operating systems.

Linux networking ≠ Unix networking

I'm sure the detailed answer would come down to something either related to the different NIC driver or the way that the Linux networking stack implements LAGG.

With no details of your hardware, that's all I can offer you in terms of explanation.
