Planning my 1st build, advice?

I am thinking about building up a FreeNAS server. I have been watching parts and was wanting to get some advice before buying anything. I have been eyeing this board, and either an i3 or i5.

I'm a Noob, heard about you guys via lifehacker and have been wanting to start a NAS for a while, this seems like a good solution.

So advice for a noobs 1st build. :)

BTW: What plugins are available (besides the 3 that come with NAS8)?

You'll get much better results if you do some of your own homework and come up with what you think is the perfect build, then ask for opinions on how good/bad it is.
