Pictures show up as thumbnails in Plex

I've added photos to my pictures directory in my Plex. When viewing the pictures the slideshow shows them as small thumbnail and then eventually they get full size with multiple presses on the arrow key or they just get larger on their own. Any ideas on what the problem is? I'm connected to a 10/100 switch, 16 GB ECC ram with i3-4130T, ASRock E3C226D2i
