Running TrueNAS-SCALE-23.10.2 just mgrated photoprism to 2.0.3. I'm unable to import photos, if I roll back the issues fixes itself. I've posted logs from photoprism and truenas. The app seems to think the files are locked or being used by another instance.

this is the truenas log, the problem appears to be permissions relared. The apps user id is 568

I think it would be interesting to see:

1. The full configuration of the app in the UI, copies of hostpaths, etc.
2. Do you use Truecharts or the IX systems app, or, a container via custom app

It's hard for anyone to say otherwise I suspect. I am using 2.0.3, no issues so I suspect it has something to do with your config, I did not change a thing.

appreciate the assist. My config file is below. my import and config files reside in an app folder on my pool. I'm wondering if the originals folder is the issue. This share has the following permissions. drwx------ 28 apps apps 28 Jan 2 09:20 Photos

Unfortunately, you are not running the IX app, you're running Truecharts and I don't use them so cannot help. I'd ask on their support forum which is on discord.

this is the truenas version, not truecharts, see catalog information below. I've already learned my lesson with true charts, and avoid at all costs.

Catalog:TrueNAS
Train:charts
Chart Version:2.0.3
Maintainer:

All of your charts options in the UI are different than mine, for example, you are missing the enable ACL choices, and the sidecar options (I don't have those), and quite a few more differences. Yours is totally different than mine.

It's more than possible, it's true. But you only have posted: "Running TrueNAS-SCALE-23.10.2 just mgrated photoprism to 2.0.3.", nowhere does it mention 1.1.3, so confused. It certainly looked like you were asking why you couldn't import on 2.0.3. I don't have 1.1.3 so can't be of much help I don't think. But one thing I am wondering, you showed permissions for import, really, the error is saying it can't move them to originals. What are the permissions of /mnt/pool_yaard1/filebackup/Photos directory? And the level above?

If I read your one post correctly. filebackup is owned by root and group users. What is Photos underneath that permissions?

Permissions for the original folder is below. I'm wondering if group rw permissions are needed in addition to owner.

And the contents of Photos directory if any? You really need to trace every directory level. Even in import directory, so, what's under Google Pixel 8, below that, etc.

I figured it out my permissions were screwy, the originals folder was owned by apps with full control, and the group was also set to apps but had restrictive permissions. I reset the owner to root and group to apps with rw. The update went smoothly and I can now imprt. Thanks much. you folks are awesome.
