I cannot for the life of me find out where the logs are located. I literally start up Owncloud (after it had previously been working flawlessly) and now I get this error:

I wish I had more detail, but I cannot find where the logs are. Anyone have any idea?

I think it's in /media/

It's not in /media. /media is meant for physical media mountpoints. IE a cdrom or floppy drive... so you'd have /media/cdrom, for example.

are you using the plugin?
if so it is in /media (of the jail).

I know it's not the best place for it, bit that's what it was before I started maintaining the plugin so that's what I stuck with.

strange. did you go through the configuration screen for that instance of owncloud yet? (the one where you pick your admin user/pass)
if not, that maybe why the folders empty. otherwise something weird is going on. also your jails don't have IPs which may be a bad sign. can they ping out to your computer?

Owncloud was working flawlessly for like well over a couple months. My jails have IPs, they just don't show from the "plugins" screen. I need to go to the "Jails" screen to show the IPs. Also, proof I can reach it via IPv4 is in my first post where you see the internal server error form the owncloud page....

did you happen to have storage attached to your owncloud jail? it's not a good sign that /media is empty as that's where your files and database are stored.

well I don't know how your data got deleted then =\
I'd double check /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/config/config.php to see it really should be at /media.

Is that where the data directory is defined? I did vi into it briefly but ot check what the server address was. I wasn't looking for a defined data directory at the time.

well now what? :(

Well turns out that directory doesn't exist. I created it, applied permissions, restarted plugin and now I get this:

If you are going to recreate your datadirectory that means you are starting with a new instance of owncloud and might as well delete the plugin and reinstall it.
If you want to restore your old instance you need your old data-directory, which seems to have disappeared for you.

Out of curiosity what version of the owncloud plugin did you start with? And did your ever upgrade through the freenas webui or owncloud webui? I'm wondering how your data-directory was ever set to www/owncloud/data?

Prior to reading your post that's exactly what I did. Since I already had my owncloud contents synced to my home folder on linux, I just copied that data into the new owncloud instance and it's all fine now. No idea how my data folder became erased, however.

glad it's working. I suggest having /media actually be a mountpoint that you snapshot, or at least snapshoting your jail.
