Hello Guys,

i dont want to discuss if it is good or not to spin down HDD´s, i only have movies on my HDD´s and watch a movie every couple weeks.

My Issue is, my Seagate Ironwolf 6TB wont spin down. The 4TB Ironwolfs spin down fine and the 6TB Ironwolf Pro does it also.
All HDD´s are in one vdev ( i´m replacing one 4TB Model after another), but that doesnt matter for now with my Issue.

My Hardware:
supermicro x9srl-f
Xeon E5-2695 v2
128GB DDR3 ECC
3x 4TB Ironwolf
4x 6TB Ironwolf <-- only that HDD´s dont spin down
1x 6TB Ironwolf Pro (ordered a non Pro and got this one but was already running when i was seeing this.. waiting for the replacment right now)

i checked the Status with
Code:
camcontrol epc <device> -c status -P

Hi, were you able to solve the issue?
I am facing the same problem. My Ironwolf 6TB (ST6000VN001) is not spinning down. It is used for replication tasks once a week, so there should be any disk access preventing it from spin down. I checked the EPC settings of the drive and it seems to be configured correctly:

Code:
/dev/sg5 - ST6000VN001-2BB186 - ZR106GS6 - SC60 - ATA

===EPC Settings===
