Oddity With NAS Time & Computer Time

Hello all.

So I have been fighting for a little while with the whole "Your NAS time does not match your computer time". I tried putting back my CMOS Clock by my local time - 8 Hours after reading some other topics here. This for whatever reason still did not remedy the issue or it did and then eventually the message would come back after about a day.

So I decided to manually change the date and time via Shell. This seemed to have fixed the issue for a little while. However the message has come back.

I then decided to check timedatectl and I got the below readout.

Now I am just confused. According to timedatectl the NAS time and CMOS time is the same, but I still get this message on the Dashboard.

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance.

You must set the CMOS time of your NAS to UTC.

That depends on the timezone you are in. Where are you located?

I noticed London in your initial screen shot. So, since UTC is based on Greenwich and there is currently no daylight saving time active in Europe, the two times are identical.

So you just set your CMOS clock to your local time. Then in the UI set your timezone to Europe/London. The rest should be automatic.

All of this is more of an issue for people not located in England

But is the UTC time always -8 Hours from your local time ?
no. UTC is always UTC. other times are translated from it, not the other way around.

Ok, so a slight odd thing. So far as I can see, everything is set as it should be, including the BIOS clock. However I am still getting the message on my dashboard.
