Well, I finally killed a Intel 750 400gb SSD. Went into read only mode on me. The other drive in the server shows 35% health left. Fortunately we were able to migrate off and have no data lost.

It was interesting that the way I found this was by doing a reboot and watching closely I saw in the boot that it was in read only mode.

Anyway, just looking to find out what others are using.

The last server I built has a P3520 1.2TB for L2Arc and P3700 400gb for SLOG.

What are others using?

For SLOG? L2ARC? Boot? It's not exactly clear what you were doing with this SSD.

I find that the P3700 is pretty much the gold standard for SLOG devices now. Expensive, but worth it for an enterprise application that needs it.

For L2ARC, any large SSD works pretty well. The Samsung 1TB+ sized are a great price.

In my mind this should have triggered a smart notification shouldn't it?

Platinum Standard is the P4800X ;)

Suspect the new gold standard is going to be a p4510

P3700s are apparently getting hard to source
