Not getting the console setup after a new install

Hello there,

I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I followed the documentation to install ver 8.3.0 on a sandisk ultra 16gb USB drive.
The installation completes ok but when I boot from the USB drive, I don't get the console setup!! All I get is what's in the attached image.

The system is a Dell PowerEdge T110 with Intel G1101 processor.

Can someone help with this problem?

Hi kamelb,

That's FreeNAS hanging real early in the boot process.

First thing I would do is try booting the key in something else...it can be any other PC you have around, you just want to see it get past that screen to verify that the key wasn't imaged incorrectly.

I'm not sure if thus would matter (I don't know if the key even has this on it) but SanDisk has that silly "U3" utility on some keys and maybe there's remnants on that screwing with you?. There's a utility to remove it you can get from their webpage.

Yes, I realize this is a really old thread, but for the benefit of others facing the same problem, the fix is to go into the BIOS Boot Settings and set USB Flash Drive Emulation Type to Hard Disk instead of Auto or Floppy.
