Hello guys,
First of all, i wanted to say sorry because I know this has been asked many times in this forum and all over the internet. I've find couple of answers, but for some reason they didnt work for me. I also want to point out that I'm new to NAS and "possibly" doing something wrong. When you answer my question, pls be specific.

So the problem is, i installed the FreeNAS on my VM and then open the IP on the PC that I was gonna make storage. Everything worked perfectly, but for some odd reason, it doesnt detect the HDD and says "No entry has been found"

Can someone tell me what I'm missing?

Which version of FreeNAS? What are the specs for the VM? What type of virtualization?

The minimum RAM requirement calls for 8Gb of RAM.

That being said, you need at least 2 disks for FreeNAS. One for the OS, another for the data volume. For the OS, 8Gb is plenty.

Btw, which is supposed to be 8GB RAM? my storage PC or my FreeNas set up PC?
So if the RAM is under 8GB it wont work? IF yes, what does my erorr have to do with the RAM? I ask because I really want to learn.

Thank you!

Your FreeNAS server should have a minimum of 8GB of RAM. See section 1.3.1 of the manual - http://doc.freenas.org/9.3/freenas_intro.html#ram

I didn't say that it wouldn't install and/or seemingly work with just 4GB.

When I create FreeNAS VM's on my ESXi box, I give the VM 8GB of RAM, an 8GB disk (for the OS), and one or more 40GB disks for storage.

You only mention one "45GB HDD". Did you install FreeNAS on it? If so, you'll need additional disks for storage. Unlike Windows C: drive where both the OS and additional programs can reside, FreeNAS requires a dedicated disk for the OS.
