No access from www via FTP

Hi all,
I admit, I am a beginner but I am moving forward step by step.
Running a 9.1.1 with raid1 setup plus a separated hdd in an "old PC". As I got no feedback in the german forum try to approach the international community.

I have activated ftp service and have created a dedicated folder /mnt/sata/public. Furthermore two users for the access from www are created (one with read/write authorization, the other user can only read) The plan is to access that particular folder from outside after getting thru the router (=fritzbox). Port forwarding is works fine but I always get the 530 invalid login error.

In simple words I miss the link between the folder and the users...

Can anybody help me out?

Can the users successfully connect if they try on the local network? If not, it is either a FTP configuration or permissions problem. If so, it is a problem with the router.

Solved....
Believe it or not, it was the Case Sensitivity. Folder was created as "Public" but mapped as "public".
This is learning by doing.....
