nexcloud cron jobs

TrueNAS Scale Latest
I have setup Nextcloud, latest version, and non of the cron job options ever run.

I manually installed sudo so I could manually run the cron.php as www-data. But I would get PHP memory errors. To correct this I added a new Extra Host path for php so I could increase the memory. If I manually run sudo www-data cron.php it seems to run. But as soon as I update the system it all gets wiped out.

Anybody else have conjob issues with Nextcloud? Did not have these issues with Nextcloud on CORE

I am new to docker and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Joel

Can you give me more details about your setup? I can't get the cron job to run even without updates.

I take it that you are running Nextcloud on Scale and not Core. I had a Core system and Nextcloud ran without problems. When I rebuilt my system on Scale, I have had nothing but problems with Nextcloud. I believe all of those issues have to do with CRON not working. Even if you get CRON running it still does not work right. I have reinstalled Nextcloud 3 times, I even reinstalled Scale from scratch, and Nextcloud never works right.

I believe that the Truenas Scale Nextcloud version is broken and will not work right until the Truenas team decides to fix it.

I had a friend of mine looked at the system, he is a linux sys admin that supports docker, and after looking at the Truenas Scale Nextcloud setup he recommend either running the offical Nextcloud docker images or running it in a VM.

I'm currently trying both the official Nextcloud docker images and running it as a VM. But I have not decided which one the standardize on.

Hello, what has your experience been the past year or so with Nexcloud on TrueNAS? Were you able to get cron jobs to work? I'm trying to get cron jobs to work for Nextcloud on TrueNAS Scale. Any help is appreciated, trying to get it to wok for months.

or running it in a VM.
In that case I would seriously reconsider switching back to CORE and running it in a jail.

Maintenance - easy
Cron jobs - check
Updates - easy
Performance - great

Bummer, I had truenas installed for me when i purchased ixsystems hardware. Went with scale as it seemed more flexible for growth. So i'm alittle stuck in Scale. I know people have gotten it to work in various ways, just trying to find out who's done it before. I find it hard to believe that a function is available for years and doesn't work like it should....

Huh? SCALE is brand new and still considered beta/work in progress.
