New install on what server

Hi Guys,

I am new to freenas and i am looking to do the following:


I have a proxmox server running ina cluster environment with 3 physical hosts.

I was looking to use freenas as the backend storage.

I have about 8 windows servers win2008R2s and some 15 linux boxes.

Can anyone tell me what not that expensite server they recommand to install freenas on pls?

I am looking for a server , hp, dell or ibm or so rackmount as they would be dual psu cpu and plenty of ram and so on.

ok fair point not have a lot of money as this is for a small small smb business.

What about a dell

Dell PowerVault MD1000 SAS SATA 15-Bay Drive Storage Array SAN 2 x controllers

Any ideas if anyone has this running

Powervault MD1000 just external disk chassis which you connect to actual server.

It doesn't hurt to ask a quote from iX System?
