Ok, I just checked memtest86 and it says ECC enabled: yes

I notice memtest 86 has a function called ecc injection which allows for injection of ECC errors to simulate how the system responds to real ECC errors. However, this function is only available in the pro edition. Is it worth paying the 40 $ for the pro edition to test this?

Ran 23 hours of mprime blend test and I get no errors! Time to test the drives.

Noob question: Do I need to "enable" ecc in any way?
No, you don't have to enable ECC support on the X10SL7 motherboard. I own this board, and it auto-detects ECC RAM:

Only if you want; for most it is not needed. However if I recall correctly, the Motherboard must support UEFI for MemTest86 to be able to do ECC Injections.

No, it didn't work in any of the systems I've seen tested. I'd definitely advise you to not spend the cash until there is proof that it does work.

I will save the 40 $ then!
Currently running SMART tests now. Earlier today I also got to check that the UPS is working because we had a power out!

Can't wait to have the system up and running soon!

I'm currently running badblocks test and I notice that the test runs faster on the 3 new drives than the old drives. I also notice that one of the old drives is slower than the two other old drives. No errors so far though on second pass.
