I am looking for pointers about what the best UFS/ZFS setup would be for the equipment I already own.

Amd Fx8150
Asus Sabertooth R2 M/B (8 Sata Port)
16Gb DDR3 1600Mhz Ram
X-Case/Norco 4224 Case
LSI SAS 9201-16i (16 Sata Port)
Hard Drives

4 WD Green 2TB
4 Seagate Barracuda 3TB
4 Seagate Barracuda 2TB
4 Hitachi 2TB

Currently utilize about half the storage with my Purchased TV Series and DVD's.

Will have to move some of the files about when I setup shares etc.

Should have completely blank WD Greens and the 3TB Seagates.

Suggested setups with ideas of size of Volumes with redundancy for failed drive/drives.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Seems old post but still ghosts on top page.

Norco 4224
More ram would be nice. I would go at least 2 pack 6*2TB raidz2 and perhaps another 6*3TB raidz2.

What did you decide on? i have a similar setup and was considering 3 x 5 RAIDZ with the remaining drive as a hot spare. As a side note, am curious if you got the LSI 9201-16i working? I saw that the following line had to be in the loader.conf: mps_load="YES"

Did you have to manually edit loader.conf to add this line in order to get your config working? Let me know.
