Hello everyone,
I am thinking about downgrading my hardware so I can use my current CPU for another VM Host, this is my current setup:
System: TrueNAS Scale 23.10.1
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 (6C12T)
Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus ATX
RAM: 32GB DDR4 RAM
Storage:
Case: Fractal Design Define R6 w/ insulated cover
When I look at the System Load Average, the Max in the last 6 months is 0.53%. So I was thinking on being able to get a smaller more energy efficient CPU to place in there, it doesn't have to be the same gen or anything, I'll need to buy a new motherboard and RAM anyways, but my biggest issue is how under utilized that CPU is in there, so since I'm looking into getting a new VM Host, I can use the 2600 for the Host and something else for the NAS.
Any advice is appreciated, thank you in advanced!
