Hi,

I'm about to build my first truenas on Scale.

Can anyone recommend me a motherboard that supports ECC ddr5 ram and Intel Core i5-14500, LGA1700, 2.60 GHz, 24MB, Boxed. I have 2x Kingston 32GB (1 x 32GB) DDR5 4800MHz, ECC, CL40, 1.10V and have trouble to find a motherboard that would suit.

Thanks in advance.

That seems a backward way to acquire things. We don't generally recommend the latest-generation hardware, as it tends to be considerably more expensive than stuff from a generation or two ago, with no real benefit. But with that said, the Supermicro X13SCL-F looks like it should fit the bill:

I know, but the intel two generation older is like 20 euros cheaper. So that's the reason Im going for the latest. I appreciate your reply. Cheers

X13SCL-F doesn't officially support core i5 cpus. So if you go this route, please report if it works.

If you currently own just ram, consider AMD with https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/motherboard/h13sae-mf

I5 with e-cores is currently may not be very reliable, support may improve with time, but it is a bit early IMHO.

There should be little to no issue in SCALE.
Worst case is that a performance heavy task gets scheduled on an e-core.
But problems like this have mostly been fixed with kernel 5.18. Scale is already on 6.6(?).

Went for Asus Pro WS W680M-ACE SE, mATX motherboard. The X135CL-F availability in Finland is pretty poor. I would want AMD but Im going for intel because of transcoding.
