So, I am reading through cyberjock's thread on Hardware Recommendations and I since it is a year old as of this posting, I wanted to know if it needed to be updated? Should I still acquire the X9SRH-7F or should I look at some of the newer X10 CPU boards that offer 512GB or greater RAM capabilities? - This is assuming that I want the best I can get, as it is stated in his post. Maybe something like the X10DRX?

Basically, should we be still looking at the X9's or should we be looking at the X10's if we want to build a new rig?

I gonna let others respond to your questions, but I'm just gonna tell you to state your use case.
Simply put, HOW are you gonna use it?
No one can tell you what kind of vehicle to drive if you don't tell, how far, how fast, and on what type of roads you're gonna be driving;)

I have surmised the answer is in the cost...

Avoid X7, they are too old...
Try to avoid X8, cheap board around $100.00 or less, but getting out dated...
Well supported X9 boards are great, cost between $150.00 on up and are recommended for BUDGET BUILDS...
The newer X10 is the best option for those willing to spend more to get more... The X10 systems seem to use less electricity in the long run, they are modern and thus cost more...
