I've got a simple mirror that's degraded. After reading up on the errors I got (host reset smart test, bunch of SCSI CAM errors), I tried changing the SAS->SATA fanout cable and powersupply.
When I booted it back up, it failed again pretty quickly and started running a scrub. The scrub ran for a long time with the below status.

Code:
gptid/b3d78fb2-779a-11e7-85fe-941882081dee ONLINE 0 0 0
gptid/b4990800-779a-11e7-85fe-941882081dee DEGRADED 0 0 691 too many errors (repairing)

There has been no further SCSI CAM errors in /var/log/messages.

After it was done, zpool status had the status of "scrub repaired 5.08M in 0 days 23:56:04 with 0 errors on Sun Apr 22 20:25:56 2018", but it's still degraded.
I'm currently running a long smart test, which seems to complete without errors. If it does, what should be my next move? zpool clear?

Post the results of the long test in code tags.

Even though it completes the test, by looking at the raw data, we might see that the drive is failing. Do you have a spare on hand?

No spare, but I've got the data backed up.
I'll post the results when it finishes.

I had an issue with a bad SATA connector that degraded the pool. Once I found the fault and moved to a different port and the scrub cleaned up the errors, I ran the following command:

zpool clear tank

tank being my pool name.

Just tried zpool clear, the disk failed during scrub. It's going back.

The scrub just finished, the pool now looks like this.
Can anyone explain the 17.4GB that was repaired with 0 errors? I don't get that. If there was 0 errors, how come it failed?

Code:
  pool: Storage
 state: DEGRADED
status: One or more devices has experienced an unrecoverable error. An
attempt was made to correct the error. Applications are unaffected.
action: Determine if the device needs to be replaced, and clear the errors
using 'zpool clear' or replace the device with 'zpool replace'.

There were no errors while repairing the 17GB?

That's what it says. 1/3 through the scrub it failed the disk though.
I don't really understand what's going on here.

I've pulled the disk and I'm running SeaTools on it now, if that passes, I'm going to run a badblock run on it.

Well, the disk passed SeaTools tests and a badblock -ws -b 4096 run.
I've replaced it with a WD Red 8TB which is currently resilvering.

It's a bummer to have an 8TB drive just gathering dust, but I don't trust it and without faults I can't really return it.
