LSI SAS9211-8i RAID Controller Card

I have read the hardware recommendations and it says that the only two raid cards that dont need to be flashed in IT mode are the LSI-9207 and the LSI-9211? I received my two cards and I just want to make sure I am good to go!

The LSI 9211 is based on the 2008 chips and has a few non-IT firmwares depending on the vendor. Just be safe and flash it. It takes 20 min one time and may save your data. The LSI-9211 from what I can see supports IT and IR modes as well, again flash the IT firmware!

It is easy to use the sas2fasah utility to check out if it is the IT or IR firmware. If it is the IR (hardware RAID) firmware, change it to the IT (initiator target) firmware.
In both cards, you need to get the latest firmware in the cards.
