Listening port closed on Transmission with PIA VPN

I know that unca_NAS had addressed this issue back in October last year. But he didn't resolve it. Instead he opted to use a different VPN provider. I am having the same issue of not being able to forward a port to my Transmission plugin in FN 9.3. Specifically, I'm trying to forward port 51413 to Transmission so it shows as open in the application.

Any ideas on how to forward ports through a VPN client to a jailed application?

I can't solve your problem specifically, but for me (Freenas 9.3, PIA, and OpenVPN) I didn't need to open any ports and my downloads work just fine... I have "Use port forwarding from my router" enabled in the transmission settings.

Thank you for your reply but I was finally able to resolve the port forwarding issue thanks to a script I found here https://forums.freenas.org/index.ph...ransmission-with-openvpn-and-pia.24566/page-2 . With it I am not only able to see what port I need to be using but it also insert is into the configuration file for the app. So awesome!
