link aggregation

Hey guys and gals

I wanted to ask if FreeNAS supports link aggregation, If I get my hands on a 4 port 1gpbs network card can I bind these using the FreeNAS software?

My switch does support this.

Next question if the answer is yes, any hardware suggestions on the network card

Yes, of course FreeNAS support link aggregation (http://doc.freenas.org/9.3/freenas_network.html#link-aggregations). You can use all NIC you want, but i think the the Intel ones are better for driver-FreeBSD reason. ;)

It requires a switch that supports LACP. As far as a card, Intel is preferred.

Note that LAGG often does not provide the speed increase people expect, and it does complicate the networking configuration.
