Documentation

Would you mind sharing information about your system, what have you tried and where are you stuck?
Otherwise we can only point you towards the documentation.

i have a raid 1 setup with 3 drives i want to add one more to the current pool, i installed the drive it shows in the system that i have a unassigned drive and give the option to add to pool. I am coming from unraid so adding a new drive is not as straight forward, i click the option to add to pool but i don't think thats the correct way.

You can't. You can either add another Vdev with 3 drives in Raidz1 or destroy the pool, recreate with four drives and restore your data from backup.

After a vdev is created, more drives cannot be added to that vdev, but a new vdev can be striped with another of the same type to increase the overall size of the pool. To extend a pool, the vdev added must be the same type as existing vdevs.
