Hi all,

I'm planning to move my jails to a separate vdev.
I was thinking of using 128 GiB SSDs (as they are cheap) in RaidZ2.

Is that a good idea ? What is your recommendation ?

The correct term I think you were looking for, is;

I'm planning to move my jails to a dedicated Pool.

Some people prefer mirrored VDevs in thier Jail Pools
for certain performance reasons. But, RAID-Z2 has it's
advantages, even with the minimum of 4 drives. You can
loose any 2 drives with a RAID-Z2 but not any 2 drives
with 2 x 2 drive mirrors.

As the pool will also be on a dedicated set of disks, I suppose both term are equivalent.
But you're certainly right from a FreeNAS side, I should have used Pool.

Thanks. I will go for Raid-Z2.
