Hi all,

Is it ok to delete the "ix-applications-backup-system-update" snapshots after the update completes successfully? I've done 3 system updates over the past year. All have gone smoothly, and I don't expect I'll ever be rolling back to an older release.

If they are ok to delete, what's the recommended way? Start with the oldest system update?

Thank you!

ZFS snapshots don't need to be deleted in any order. You can even delete all 3 at once, as long as you're sure you'll never use them.

I don't use SCALE, so I'm not sure if those are recursive snapshots to also include the child datasets below?

I'm not sure, if they are recursive. They are automatically created when upgrading to a new version.

My main question though, is if they are ok to delete at all. There are several posts saying in very general terms that you should never delete anything generated by the system in the ix-applications dataset, but its unclear if that applies to these obsolete snapshots.
