SOLVED Issue with Unrecognized Ethernet Card

I recently acquired a new Ethernet card, specifically the 1 Gbit from Intel. I installed it into my TrueNAS system with the expectation that it would be recognized and function seamlessly. However, upon booting up the system, I noticed that the Ethernet card is not being detected or recognized by TrueNAS.

I have taken the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Checked physical connections: I verified that the Ethernet card is properly seated in the PCIe slot and all necessary power connections are secure.

Rebooted the system: I performed multiple system reboots to ensure that the Ethernet card had a chance to be detected during the initialization process.

Verified compatibility: I cross-checked the specifications of the Ethernet card and confirmed that it should be compatible with the TrueNAS system.

Checked for driver updates: I searched for any available driver updates or firmware patches for the Ethernet card but couldn't find any relevant updates specifically for TrueNAS compatibility.

Despite these efforts, I am still unable to get the Ethernet card recognized by TrueNAS. The card does not appear in the list of detected network interfaces in the TrueNAS web interface, and I am unable to configure it for network connectivity.

At a minimum, your hardware specifics are essential--what motherboard are you using, and what exact "Intel Ethernet Card"?

That's going to be a problem, but not the immediate problem.

I'd expect i350-based cards to work. Which version of TrueNAS are you running? And what's the output of lspci?

Why do you have six ports' worth of Gigabit Ethernet cards installed in a server that already has two onboard? That seems kind of odd for a NAS--if you need more than 1 Gbit/sec bandwidth, a simpler (and likely less expensive) way to accomplish that would be with a 10Gbit/sec NIC. But be that as it may...

Nothing at all is showing up for those NICs in the lspci output, and I'd think it should be. Have you tried putting the cards in different slots? Trying them with a different OS (SCALE or Windows)?

And just to be clear, my current thought process is trying to rule out that the cards themselves are defective. I wouldn't expect them to both be, but I'd also expect them to show up somehow in lspci--and that just isn't happening.

I see, I appreciate your help. After upgrading to SCALE, the NIC is still not recognized. I am going to talk to my vendor, because the Ethernet ports do not blink even while a LAN cable is plugged in. They will check if there is a hardware issue.

Is anything shown for the card with lspci? A more specific command would be lspci | grep Ethernet. If not, I'd suspect the card to be defective.

Do you see this 4 ports on GUI?
What is returned if you execute "ifconfig" ?
