Is this disk dying? - SMART attached

Hi all,

had a couple of ATA error count increases yeserday... I seem to think these were both triggered around the times I instructed truenas to run a test.

No SMART tests fail - disk was ran through a 10+ hours long test 2 days ago before going into this system (using seatools).

SMARTcrtl printout: - could somebody please help me figure out what the ATA errors are / what caused them?

Your disk has quite a few ATA errors, but doesn't show any bad/pending/uncorrectable sectors. It could very well run for many more thousands of hours.

You should schedule a long SMART test -- perhaps once a week -- which may reveal more details.

Edit: the results you've shown don't indicate anything problematic, but they also cut off the actual values of the SMART attributes. There should be an additional column to the far right called RAW_VALUE that would have relevant information.

Other than that, yes, definitely schedule regular SMART self-tests.

@danb35 the values are there -- but they're way out on the right, out of view unless you dig for them...
