Hi,

I seem to recall the locate command being unavailable in earlier versions (e.g. 9.3).

However, I can't seem to find it after installing 9.10 (as root or normal user):

Code:
[root@freenas] /etc/periodic/daily# locate

CORRECT>locale (y|n|e|a)? no
locate: Command not found.

And there doesn't seem to be any mention of it in /etc/periodic.d.

Did it get removed?

Or am I looking in the wrong place somehow?

That would be strange as it comes with a base install of FreeBSD. Any output from which locate? or an ls of /usr/bin?

I have the same thing on my 9.10 system, updated from 9.3.1. There is no locate in /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin. If I look in one of the jails, which have not been updated since the 9.10 update, I find locate in /usr/bin

Interesting...I don't see a ticket indicating that it was removed on purpose. If one of you decide to create a bug report at bugs.freenas.org, please post the issue number here.

I will not be creating a bug report for this, as I never use locate.
