Is it safe to create a Truecrypt container on my FreeNAS?

I currently have 4 drives in a ZFS Stripe configuration. There are certain files that I wish to be password protected, encrypted if possible.

Would it be possible to create a truecrypt container on the drive, then mount it to access my confidential files?

Or does truecrypt have compatibility issues with FreeNAS?

It shouldn't be any problem at all, I mount Truecrypt containers from my NAS with no problem.
