This morning I noticed I have been getting smbd errors every few minutes for the last day:

Apr 20 12:01:40 nas kernel: pid 521 (smbd), jid 0, uid 0: exited on signal 6 (core dumped) Apr 20 12:01:40 nas kernel: pid 522 (smbd), jid 0, uid 0: exited on signal 6 (core dumped) Apr 20 12:01:40 nas kernel: pid 523 (smbd), jid 0, uid 0: exited on signal 6 (core dumped) Apr 20 12:01:49 nas kernel: pid 518 (smbd), jid 0, uid 0: exited on signal 6 (core dumped) Apr 20 12:01:59 nas kernel: pid 525 (smbd), jid 0, uid 0: exited on signal 6 (core dumped) Apr 20 12:02:10 nas kernel: pid 541 (smbd), jid 0, uid 0: exited on signal 6 (core dumped) Apr 20 12:02:10 nas kernel: pid 558 (smbd), jid 0, uid 0: exited on signal 6 (core dumped)

No other symptoms of anything wrong. I restarted SMB service and the errors stopped. Just to be safe I checked the IPMI logs and found this:

Unsure as to what Bus66 was, I looked through dmidecode and noticed this:

System Slot Information Designation: CPU SLOT7 PCI-E 3.0 x 8 Type: x8 PCI Express 3 x8 Current Usage: In Use Length: Long ID: 7 Characteristics: 3.3 V is provided Opening is shared PME signal is supported Bus Address: 0000:66:00.0

From what I can see, SLOT7 is the slot closest to the CPU, which is where my NIC (Chelsio T520-SO-CR) is plugged in. Is it possible I have NIC issue? I have noticed that it gets very hot, and I don't currently have active cooling on it. Could it be overheating and cause all the errors listed above?
